A: Parking will be available at Marion’s Camp, at the end of Tuttle Rd in Sutton, MA
Q: What is the event cancellation policy?
A: To ensure the safest event for the participants and all involved, we reserve the right to cancel, delay, or modify the format of the event at anytime. Believe us, it would have to be a very, very SERIOUS and DANGEROUS situation for the Singletary Swim Series event to be canceled. But in the unfortunate situation this is required, there is a no-refund policy in place, as the costs have already been incurred to host the event and we do not want to take away any contributions to our charities. We expect you to be disappointed if the Singletary Swim Series event is canceled, as we will be, but we also hope you understand why a no-refund policy is in place.
Q: Are swim noodles or kick-boards, etc allowed in the Singletary Swim Series?
A: As per USAT rules, any inanimate object that is used to assist in forward progress is not permitted and will result in a variable time penalty.
Q: Will babysitting be available for my kids?
A: Not likely, but we’ll update you if so.
Q: Is Singletary Swim Series events chip-timed?
A: No, but timing will be provided.
Q: Are wetsuits allowed?
A: Per USAT rules, wetsuits are allowed when the water temperature is 78 degrees or lower. If it is 78.1-83.9 degrees, wetsuits can be worn but the participant will not be eligible for awards. If the water temperature is 84 degrees or warmer, no one is allowed to wear wetsuits. The water temperature will likely be less than 78 degrees so we anticipate this being a wetsuit-legal event. Water temperature will be tested in the days leading up to the event and again on event day.
Q: Do I have to wear a swim cap?
A: Yes, you are required to wear the colored swim cap issued to you for the event. This cap identifies the wave you are in and assists the on-water safety personal in identifying you.
Q: How do I get my registration packet on event weekend?
A: You can only pick up your packet/check-in on the morning of the event. Reminder, photo ID MUST be presented at packet pick-up (Saturday). NO ID = NO RACE, NO EXCEPTIONS. Swimming events contain a higher level of risk as compared to road races, so extra safety precautions are utilized, including checking the ID of all registered participants.
Q: Can I pick up my friend’s packet?
A: No. Every participant must pick up their own packet, show ID, and sign their own waiver. The only exception is that a parent can pickup their childs packet if they have to co-sign the waiver. Please see above for additional explanation for added safety precautions.
Q: Are there any refunds or transfers?
A: Sorry, all registrations are final; there are no refunds or transfers to another participant. If you are unable to do any event please let us know ASAP so someone else can take your spot. You may be eligible to defer your entry fee to another event, but requests must be made in writing to email@example.com no later than 15 days prior to the event and are evaluated on a case by case basis.
